About the position

The Environmental Manager (EHS) at Hubbell Incorporated will provide leadership and technical expertise in sustainable environmental performance across Hubbell facilities. This role involves implementing internal environmental policies, ensuring compliance with regulations, managing site remediation, conducting environmental audits, and overseeing training and project management. The position reports to the Vice President of Environment, Health and Safety and requires a strong understanding of environmental laws and regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and technical expertise on sustainable environmental performance for Hubbell facilities.
  • Implement internal environmental policies and standards while ensuring compliance with regulations.
  • Manage remediation projects and reserves to ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Conduct impact assessments to identify, assess, and reduce environmental risks using continuous improvement strategies.
  • Perform environmental auditing and ensure effective implementation of findings.
  • Evaluate operations and make recommendations to reduce, reuse, and recycle materials and waste.
  • Act as an internal consultant on environmental compliance and permit procurement.
  • Coordinate and ensure that all environmental monitoring and recordkeeping is current.
  • Lead and coordinate Environmental Phase I, II, and III activities.
  • Manage and coordinate external consulting activities and budgets.
  • Liaise with regulators on compliance-related matters.
  • Train, coach, and educate local EHS team members on environmental responsibilities.
  • Track and review enterprise and site-level performance using key performance indicators.

Requirements

  • B.S. degree in environmental science or related field.
  • Strong knowledge of RCRA, CAA, EPCRA, CWA, and other federal and state regulations.
  • 10 or more years of prior EHS experience.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Strong problem-solving, planning, organizational, and follow-up skills.
  • Demonstrated project management skills.
  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to coordinate multiple tasks.
