About the position

The Environmental Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing the company's environmental strategies to ensure compliance with regulations and customer requirements. This role focuses on driving sustainability initiatives, coordinating environmental efforts across departments, and minimizing the environmental impact of operations. The manager will also oversee the Transmission Line foundation crew, ensuring safety and regulatory compliance while promoting environmental awareness within the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Foster a strong safety culture within CP&S Environmental and Foundation crews.
  • Conduct written and verbal safety evaluations for assigned crews.
  • Identify and report safety concerns to management and field teams.
  • Ensure adherence to all local, state, and federal environmental regulations.
  • Develop and implement environmental best practices to meet compliance standards.
  • Conduct regular environmental audits and assessments.
  • Identify and mitigate environmental risks proactively.
  • Attend RFP and pre-construction meetings with customers and team members.
  • Prepare bid packages and project estimates for Transmission projects.
  • Interpret and apply blueprints to ensure quality and compliance.
  • Plan, schedule, and oversee multiple crews across various job locations.
  • Track progress, material inventory, costs, and crew hours.
  • Propose enhancements to work planning and execution strategies.
  • Design and deliver environmental training programs for employees.
  • Promote environmental awareness and engagement throughout the organization.
  • Collect, analyze, and manage environmental data.
  • Generate reports on environmental performance for senior management and customers.
  • Monitor and report on key environmental metrics.
  • Respond to environmental incidents and emergencies promptly.
  • Conduct investigations and root cause analyses for incidents.
  • Implement corrective and preventive measures.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in environmental management or a similar role.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of environmental regulations and standards.
  • Experience with Environmental Management Systems (e.g., ISO 14001).
  • Proven project management abilities.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in analyzing complex data and presenting findings effectively.

Nice-to-haves

  • Certification in Environmental Management (e.g., Certified Environmental Professional).
  • Expertise in environmental data analysis and reporting tools.
