About the position

The Environmental Management Program Analyst position at the Florida Department of Transportation involves providing support to the Office of Environmental Management. The role focuses on financial management, procurement, and compliance with federal and state regulations, while assisting in the management of contracts and agreements related to environmental programs. The analyst will also be responsible for tracking budgets, preparing reports, and ensuring effective communication across various departments.

Responsibilities

  • Assist Senior Environmental Program Analyst with accounting, contracting, and financial support for the Office of Environmental Management.
  • Manage procurement, encumbrances, authorization, and execution of agreements while ensuring compliance with applicable statutes.
  • Assist with invoicing and payments, maintaining and tracking agreements, contracts, and task work orders.
  • Update the FDOT ETDM Funded Position Handbook and FDOT Agreement Administrative Handbook as needed.
  • Provide support, guidance, and recommendations for approval/denial in areas related to Human Resources, Travel, Budget, Procurement, and Policy modifications.
  • Stay current with changes in rules and procedures related to personnel and purchasing, and disseminate information to staff.
  • Coordinate on issues that cross disciplinary or district lines and respond to communications as assigned.
  • Research and provide appropriate information and documentation, analyzing and providing input on work assignments.
  • Review work products of other staff for content and make recommendations for needed changes.
  • Manage all administrative functions and processes for the Office of Environmental Management.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 1 year of experience managing budgets and tracking data through spreadsheets.
  • Strong writing skills and research abilities.
  • Knowledge of administrative principles and practices.
  • Ability to prioritize projects and multi-task effectively.

  • Experience with environmental management programs.
