About the position

WasteXpress Environmental (WXE), a division of Pacific Northern Environmental LLC, is seeking an experienced Haz Mat Driver to join our team as an Environmental Operations Coordinator. This role is crucial for the successful operation of our new Caldwell 10-day Transfer Facility and involves providing exceptional service to our clients and employees. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment and possess the operational capabilities necessary to manage hazardous waste disposal effectively. As part of our team, you will be responsible for driving to customer locations to package, label, and manifest waste in compliance with all applicable laws. You will prepare shipping documents and create waste profiles for outbound facilities, utilizing HazCat Hazmat Chemical Identification Equipment to characterize materials as needed. Your role will also involve interfacing professionally with customers and collaborating closely with the Sales Department to prepare work orders and other project documents. Additionally, you will help coordinate outbound regulated waste shipments to end facilities and ensure compliance at the 10-day Transfer Facility. This position requires a high school diploma or GED, a valid CDL Class B Driver's License, and preferably a Hazmat Endorsement (which the company is willing to pay for if not already obtained). Knowledge of the Department of Transportation Title 49 (Hazardous Materials Transportation Regulations) and the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act Title 40 (Protection of the Environment) is essential. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and the ability to learn new environmental software are also required. The working conditions may involve moving equipment up to 50lbs, remaining stationary for long periods, and occasionally ascending or descending ladders and stairs. Responsibilities

  • Drive to customers' locations to package waste, label waste, and manifest waste in compliance with all applicable laws.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Valid CDL Class B Driver's License required.
  • Hazmat Endorsement preferred, but company is willing to pay to obtain.
