About the position

The Environmental Permitting Project Manager at TRC is responsible for leading and managing permitting projects across various sectors, including electric transmission, renewable energy, and transportation. This role involves preparing permit applications, scientific reports, and environmental impact statements while coordinating fieldwork and managing budgets. The position supports the development and implementation of key permitting programs to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, contributing to sustainable community development.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and participate in site-development, transportation, and energy-related projects.
  • Manage permitting projects at federal, state, and local levels with a strong track record of success.
  • Prepare permit applications, scientific reports, and environmental impact statements.
  • Coordinate fieldwork and direct technical staff while interacting with clients and stakeholders.
  • Manage budgets, invoicing, accounts receivable, schedules, and subcontractors.
  • Support proposals and cost estimates for projects.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in environmental science, natural resources, biology, ecology, planning, or related field.
  • 5 to 15 years of post-degree environmental permitting experience in New Jersey.
  • Familiarity with NEPA documentation including ENFs, EIRs, CATEXs, EAs, and EISs.
  • Strong organizational skills to prioritize and perform multiple work assignments simultaneously.
  • Excellent verbal and technical communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain a positive attitude under aggressive schedules.
  • Experience in preparing clear and concise reports and written materials.
