About the position

The Environmental Permitting Specialist/Wetland Scientist position at Resource Options Inc. involves supporting the ecological services division by conducting wetland delineations, preparing regulatory documents, and designing restoration projects. The role is essential for assessing environmental impacts and ensuring compliance with various regulations, contributing to the growth of the client's environmental consulting services.

Responsibilities

  • Conducting wetland and other ecological resource area delineations.
  • Assessing the potential impacts of infrastructure and development projects.
  • Preparing WPA and NEPA/MEPA documents and regulatory agency permit applications.
  • Designing wetland and habitat mitigation plans.
  • Preparing wetland restoration plans.
  • Preparing federal, state, and local permit applications.
  • Working with and supporting other groups within the company.

Requirements

  • B.A., B.S. and/or M.S. in Ecology, Geology, Soil Science, Biology, Natural Resources, or a related course of study.
  • Prior experience in wetland delineation/habitat evaluation, impact assessment, and regulatory compliance is required.
  • Experience in field ecology, data analysis, and writing.
  • Experience in restoration design, environmental regulatory compliance, and client/project management is a plus.
  • Familiarity and/or coursework in ArcGIS is required.
  • Demonstrated strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Valid driver's license and vehicle.
