About the position

The Environmental Professional II at Oneok, Inc. is responsible for providing environmental support for petroleum pipelines, facilities, and projects. This role involves ensuring compliance with environmental regulations, managing permits, and supporting emergency response efforts. The position requires a strong understanding of environmental programs and the ability to communicate effectively with regulatory agencies and internal stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Provide environmental support to Operations for managing waste, water, spill planning and response activities.
  • Manage all environmental permits (except air), plans, and waste in assigned area.
  • Participate in spill drills and tabletop exercises, providing emergency response support for assigned area.
  • Coordinate and participate in agency inspections in the field, acting as the primary representative for the company.
  • Facilitate environmental permitting prior to, during, and after construction for maintenance, growth, and large capital projects.
  • Evaluate and implement emerging regulatory issues.
  • Provide regulatory applicability determinations and identify compliance requirements and tasks.
  • Facilitate multiple environmental programs within operating assets or construction projects.
  • Utilize and improve upon established procedures and tools to demonstrate compliance.
  • Evaluate and interpret operating and inspection reports to ensure compliance obligations are met.
  • Initiate permit applications for new construction and operating assets, reviewing permit conditions for consistency.
  • Coordinate data management and environmental records, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Provide direction for collection of environmental field samples for analysis.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in environmental, natural science, or engineering preferred.
  • 3 - 5 years related experience in environmental compliance, permitting, or managing waste.
  • Knowledge of environmental regulations and experience managing contractors.

  • Ability to analyze, research, compile, and prepare permit applications and reports.
  • Ability to evaluate and interpret governmental regulations and company policies.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to apply math and statistics.
