The Environmental Program Assistant/Analyst position is focused on ensuring compliance with air laws and regulations within the state of Missouri. Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance of citizens and regulated facilities with air laws and regulations through report reviews and file submissions.
• Provide assistance with the practical applications of state statutes, federal regulations, commission rules, program policies, and procedures.
• Operate database systems to track, retrieve, and transfer environmental data.
• Determine noncompliance issues concerning the quality of the state's natural resources through extensive research.
• Discuss environmental issues with representatives of public and private interests.
• Coordinate and negotiate with citizens and regulated facilities to gain compliance with environmental programs, laws, rules, and regulations.
• Develop complex enforcement plans and monitor progress toward compliance.
• Perform other related work as assigned.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
• 0-4 years of direct work experience in an environmental regulatory field.
• Knowledge of compliance procedures for assessing and monitoring programs or projects.
• Ability to manage and organize information effectively.
• Strong self-management skills with the ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
