About the position

The Environmental Project Manager at AECOM is responsible for managing a variety of industrial investigation and remediation projects. This role requires a strong focus on health and safety, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a high-performance team. The position involves overseeing project scope, schedule, and budget, while also building strong client relationships and ensuring quality control of tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Managing scope, schedule, and budget for large-sized investigation/remediation projects
  • Completing a variety of remedial designs
  • Building strong client relationships
  • Client and regulatory correspondence
  • Technical report writing and review
  • Analyzing and applying solutions to atypical and/or semi-complex and challenging issues
  • Health and safety stewardship, including local field visits
  • Preparing cost estimates and proposals
  • Working effectively with project teams, clients, and all other stakeholders
  • Coordinating work schedules with AECOM staff and subcontractors
  • Responsible for quality control of tasks
  • Mentoring project junior staff
  • Regional travel for field visits
  • Supervising up to 10 staff

Requirements

  • Bachelor's in Engineering or closely related field
  • 2+ years of direct project management experience on remediation projects
  • Qualified applicants must pass a pre-employment substance abuse test and an MVR check

Nice-to-haves

  • 8 years of experience as environmental remediation engineer in environmental consulting
  • 4 years of project management experience
  • PE license
  • Experience working with environmental regulatory agencies
  • 40-Hour HAZWOPER Training
