About the position

As an Environmental Project Manager at Actalent, you will be responsible for managing various environmental projects and serving clients effectively. Your role will involve evaluating environmental data obtained from site investigation activities, which will help in developing conceptual site models and identifying cost-effective cleanup alternatives. You will also be tasked with reviewing investigation and cleanup cost estimates to support remediation funding sources and ensure compliance with financial assurance requirements. In addition to project management, you will lead company initiatives aimed at enhancing staff understanding and application of New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection (NJDEP) regulations and guidance. Your active participation in professional and trade organizations through volunteer speaking and writing opportunities will be crucial in promoting best practices within the industry. You will need to understand and articulate ISRA (Industrial Site Recovery Act) transactions, managing all phases of the project, including forecasting and resource allocation. This position is a Contract-to-Hire role, lasting approximately six months, and requires a hybrid work environment where you will spend three days on-site in Parsippany-Troy Hills, New Jersey, and two days working remotely. The work environment is dynamic, with a mix of fieldwork (70%) and office work (30%), and you will be expected to work 40 hours per week, typically from 8 AM to 5 PM.

Responsibilities

  • Manage environmental projects and serve clients as a Project Manager.
  • Evaluate environmental data from site investigation activities.
  • Develop conceptual site models and cost-effective cleanup alternatives.
  • Review investigation and cleanup cost estimates to support remediation funding sources and financial assurance requirements.
  • Lead company initiatives to help staff interpret and apply NJDEP regulations and guidance.
  • Participate in professional and trade organizations through volunteer speaking and writing opportunities.
  • Understand and describe ISRA transactions.
  • Manage all phases of the project, including forecasting.

Requirements

  • Environmental Sciences Degree
  • Understanding of NJ Site Remediation Program guidelines for the NJDEP
  • Ability to independently write ISRA Transaction reports
  • OSHA 40 Certified
