About the position

The Environmental Science Intern will support the engineering team in executing various environmental compliance and permitting projects related to electric power. This role involves applying professional skills to meet project needs, identifying environmental requirements, preparing permit applications, and developing technical reports.

Responsibilities

  • Assist engineering team members in project execution related to environmental compliance and permitting.
  • Identify environmental requirements for electric power projects, including generating stations and transmission lines.
  • Collaborate with project engineers to ensure compliance with environmental criteria in project design.
  • Prepare permit applications for state and local agencies.
  • Draft complex technical reports, including site selection studies and environmental impact assessments.

Requirements

  • Expected graduation date in December 2025 or Spring 2026 toward a BS in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, or related field; MS preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to interact and multitask with project team members, clients, and regulatory agencies.

Nice-to-haves

  • Familiarity with environmental compliance and permitting for complex industrial projects.
  • Knowledge of environmental laws and regulations applicable to large industrial facilities.
