About the position

PM Environmental, a Pinchin Company, is seeking an Environmental Scientist-Geologist Consultant to join their team in Lansing, Michigan. This full-time position involves project management and oversight of multiple environmental projects, ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations, and preparing technical reports. The role requires effective communication with stakeholders and coordination of onsite activities, while maintaining a culture of safety and adherence to industry standards.

Responsibilities

  • Project management and oversight of multiple projects.
  • Manage external communication with clients, attorneys, and state agencies.
  • Coordinate and plan onsite activities and field personnel.
  • Ensure onsite personnel are informed and prepared to comply with safety regulations.
  • Develop scope of work to assess Recognized Environmental Conditions (RECs).
  • Prepare technical reports including Phase II Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs) and Baseline Environmental Assessments (BEAs).
  • Manage financial responsibilities including invoicing and contract management.
  • Evaluate progress of assigned projects according to industry standards.
  • Conduct data evaluation and comparisons to cleanup criteria.
  • Provide administrative support for the Department Manager.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Geology, or related field.
  • 1 to 3 years of experience in environmental science or geology.
  • 40-Hour Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response (HAZWOPER) certification.
  • Understanding of Michigan's environmental regulations (Parts 201 and 213 of NREPA).
  • Experience with report writing, specifically Phase II ESAs, BEAs, and/or DDCCs.
  • Experience with field sampling/methodology/techniques is preferred.
  • Strong problem-solving and organizational skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Experience with field sampling/methodology/techniques is preferred.
  • Ability to handle client/customer interactions in a fast-paced environment.
