About the position
The Environmental Scientist/Geologist/Engineer position at LaBella in Buffalo, NY, involves providing a comprehensive range of environmental due diligence services, from initial assessments to remediation. The role requires extensive experience with New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (NYSDEC) programs, particularly the Brownfield Cleanup Program and Spills program. While primarily office-based, the successful candidate will also engage in fieldwork to mentor junior staff and support field operations as needed.
Responsibilities
- Scoping of Phase II and remedial investigations
- Planning and execution of field investigation programs targeting soil, groundwater, soil vapor, etc.
- Data tabulation and management
- Field and laboratory data review and interpretation
- Remedial alternatives analysis
- Cost estimating
- Technical report writing and review
- Support field sampling programs, as needed
Requirements
- 4-6 Years Experience
- BS in Geology, Environmental Science, Engineering or closely related field
- MS Office Suite
- Experience with Phase II Environmental Site Assessments and the NYSDEC Brownfield Cleanup Program
- Strong communication skills
- Critical thinking and creativity
- Field sampling experience
- 40 Hour OSHA Hazwoper certification and up to date annual refresher
