About the position
AECOM is seeking a Field Environmental Scientist/Geologist to join their Environmental Remediation Practices group in Pittsburgh, PA. This role involves supporting soil and groundwater investigations and remediation projects, requiring strong field data collection skills and knowledge of environmental regulations. Responsibilities
- Conduct environmental field work, including soil logging, groundwater sampling, fluid level gauging, and remediation oversight.
- Prepare field documents and collect, process, and interpret field data.
- Support office tasks, including data analysis and report writing.
- Interpret and record data, conduct analyses, and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Travel to project locations, including driving and potential overnight stays.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Geology, Environmental Science, Soil Science, or a closely related field.
- 2+ years of experience in environmental consulting or equivalent experience/education.
- Valid driver's license, subject to pre-employment screening.
Nice-to-haves
- 3+ years of experience with environmental field work (e.g., soil logging, groundwater sampling).
- 40-Hour HAZWOPER training.
- Working knowledge of PADEP underground storage tank regulations.
