About the position

The Environmental Scientist/Geologist position involves conducting environmental assessments, hydrogeological studies, and subsurface investigations. The role requires sampling of various environmental media, oversight of subcontractors, and preparation of technical reports and project deliverables. The position emphasizes safety, quality, and ethical practices while collaborating with a diverse team to address environmental project issues.

Responsibilities

  • Perform environmental assessments and hydrogeological studies.
  • Conduct subsurface investigations and monitoring projects.
  • Sample soil, sediment, surface water, and groundwater.
  • Oversee subcontractors and coordinate with analytical laboratories and drillers.
  • Prepare project deliverables including Environmental Site Assessments and progress reports.
  • Draft technical reports and ensure quality assurance and control throughout project life cycles.
  • Manage tasks for sites undergoing assessment and remediation.
  • Participate in proposal preparation and perform calculations.

Requirements

  • BS in Geology or Environmental Sciences or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 2 to 5 years of related experience in environmental projects.
  • Proficient in HSSE policies and procedures.
  • Experienced technical writer with the ability to draft CERCLA-related documents.
  • OSHA HAZWOPER training preferred.
  • Ability to travel for extended field work (2 to 3 weeks per cycle).
  • Valid driver's license and good driving record required.
  • Experience in groundwater and soil sampling procedures.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with construction oversight and remediation system operation and maintenance activities.
  • Ability to lift and move items and equipment up to 50 lbs.
