About the position
The Environmental Scientist/Geologist position at Stantec involves conducting environmental assessments, hydrogeological studies, and remediation projects. The role requires a combination of fieldwork and office tasks, including sampling, data interpretation, and report preparation. The successful candidate will collaborate with subcontractors and ensure compliance with health and safety standards while delivering high-quality work.
Responsibilities
- Perform environmental assessments and hydrogeological studies.
- Conduct subsurface investigations and monitoring projects.
- Sample soil, sediment, surface water, and groundwater.
- Oversee subcontractors and ensure project deliverables are met.
- Prepare technical reports and project documentation including Phase I and II Environmental Site Assessments.
- Coordinate with analytical laboratories and drillers during project execution.
- Manage tasks for sites undergoing assessment and remediation.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Geology or Environmental Sciences.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in environmental project execution.
- Proficient in technical writing and data interpretation.
- Experience with groundwater and soil sampling procedures.
- Knowledge of CERCLA-related documents preferred.
- Valid driver's license and good driving record required.
Nice-to-haves
- OSHA HAZWOPER training (can be obtained after hiring).
- Experience with construction oversight and remediation system operation.
