About the position
The Environmental Scientist Intern position at HNTB offers an opportunity for students to gain practical experience in environmental science while contributing to significant infrastructure projects. This role involves assisting project teams with various tasks, conducting research, and supporting the development of project materials. It is a part-time, temporary position based in the Tampa, FL office, specifically for the summer of 2025.
Responsibilities
- Assists project team members with various support tasks.
- Conducts basic research and data collection.
- Maintains records, collections, and files related to specific projects.
- Assists in the development of graphics, presentation materials, and reports.
- Performs other duties assigned.
Requirements
- Enrolled in a related undergraduate or graduate program.
Nice-to-haves
- Pursuing a degree in Geology, Biology, Ecology, Environmental Science, Archeology, Anthropology, or a related field.
- Coursework or interest in Ecology, Biology, Fishery or Forestry, Historic Preservation, Archaeology, Environmental Planning, Public Involvement, or Urban Planning with a focus on environmental.
- Previous internship experience.
- Problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong writing skills.
- Works well in a team setting.
