About the position

WSP is seeking a Full-Time Environmental Scientist specializing in Petroleum Fuels Storage Tank management. This role involves supporting the National Fuels Storage Tank Manager, overseeing subcontractor activities, managing project compliance, and engaging in site investigations and regulatory reporting. The position is integral to ensuring project success and adherence to environmental regulations while working with a diverse range of clients.

Responsibilities

  • Support the National Fuels Storage Tank Manager in daily activities and subcontractor management.
  • Review subcontractors' construction schedules and submittals, coordinating responses to inquiries.
  • Negotiate Subcontractor Change Order Proposals to achieve fair pricing.
  • Manage project close-out in compliance with regulations and client requirements.
  • Respond to client requests for proposals and develop competitive technical responses.
  • Conduct site investigations, compliance testing, and remediation projects for various clientele.
  • Perform construction management oversight during storage tank installations and repairs.
  • Exercise ethical decision-making regarding company resources and adhere to WSP's Code of Conduct.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 1-3 years of experience with bulk petroleum fluids and tank storage systems.
  • Ability to compile and interpret compliance data for clients and regulators.
  • Strong understanding of federal, state, and local compliance regulations related to fueling systems.
  • Excellent writing, editing, and organizational skills.
  • Experience in developing subcontractor requests for proposals and cost reviews.
  • Familiarity with API, ASTM, and NFPA standards applicable to storage tanks.

Nice-to-haves

  • Previous project management experience in storage tank systems and equipment.
  • Experience in estimating, permitting, and construction services.
  • Project estimation and proposal development experience related to environmental construction services.
  • Industry-specific registration or certification such as OSHA 19101.120 HAZWOPER 40-hour Certification.
