About the position

DRMP is seeking a full-time Environmental Scientist for our Orlando Office. If you have 4-7 years of experience with Florida ecology, natural resource management, and environmental permitting; and you enjoy field investigations (wetland delineations/assessments, threatened and endangered species surveys, ecological monitoring), environmental permitting, National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) documentation, and environmental monitoring/inspections, we'd love to hear from you.

Responsibilities

  • Field investigations (wetland delineations/assessments, threatened and endangered species surveys, ecological monitoring), environmental permitting, National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) documentation, and environmental monitoring/inspections.
  • Be part of an interdisciplinary team comprised of engineers, scientists and planners focused on existing client support and new business development.
  • Enjoy a variety of working conditions ranging from field efforts to office analysis; report writing; agency interactions, and the development of permit applications and mitigation plans.
  • Lead efforts in field sampling and assessment, data collection, and field equipment operation associated with environmental permitting projects.
  • Perform office duties including data analysis and management, report writing, preparation of permit documentation, client coordination, and marketing efforts.

Requirements

  • Experience working on transportation projects for FDOT and/or other roadway clients.
  • Experience with ESRI GIS, and GPS applications. AutoCAD or MicroStation, and statistical software.
  • Professional certifications, ie: FFWCC Gopher Tortoise Agent permit, PWS, CEP, CWB, PMP, etc.
  • Experience working with Florida regulatory agencies including all Water Management Districts, FDEP, FFWCC, and knowledge of state regulations, including Chapter(s) 373, 379, 403 F.S., and 62-330 FAC.
  • Experience working with federal regulatory agencies including USACE, USFWS, NMFS, FHWA, and knowledge of federal regulations including Clean Water Act, Endangered Species Act, and NEPA.
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability in collaborative problem solving with stakeholders, clients, and teammates.
