About the position

The Environmental Services Aide at Hackensack Meridian Health plays a crucial role in maintaining a clean and sanitary environment for patients and staff. This position is responsible for cleaning and disinfecting patient rooms, bathrooms, furniture, and other areas of the facility, ensuring that high standards of cleanliness and sanitation are upheld throughout the hospital. The aide will follow established policies and procedures to perform their duties effectively and efficiently, contributing to the overall mission of the organization to provide exceptional healthcare services. In addition to cleaning and disinfecting, the Environmental Services Aide will be tasked with delivering linen and removing trash from assigned areas. They will also be responsible for sweeping and mopping patient rooms, maintaining an adequate stock of materials, supplies, and chemicals on their cleaning cart and in the janitor's closet. Consistent performance of daily floor care procedures is expected, along with ensuring that all equipment, such as carts, tanks, and buckets, are kept clean and polished, with proper maintenance at the end of each shift. The role may also involve other duties and projects as assigned, in accordance with hospital policies and procedures. The Environmental Services Aide is expected to adhere to Hackensack Meridian Health's organizational competencies and standards of behavior, fostering a culture of teamwork and accountability in improving the lives of patients and their caregivers.

Responsibilities

  • Clean and disinfect patient's rooms, bathrooms, furniture, and other areas of the facility in a timely manner.
  • Deliver linen and remove trash from assigned areas.
  • Sweep and mop patient's rooms.
  • Maintain adequate stock of materials, supplies, and chemicals on cleaning cart and in janitor's closet.
  • Consistently perform daily floor care procedures.
  • Ensure equipment is kept clean and polished - carts, tanks, and buckets are emptied and rinsed at shift end.
  • Other duties and/or projects as assigned according to hospital policies & procedures.

Nice-to-haves
