The Environmental Service Technician I plays a crucial role in maintaining a clean, attractive, and safe environment within Sutter Davis Hospital. This position involves performing a variety of cleaning tasks to ensure that patient rooms, offices, hallways, and other assigned areas of the facility are kept in optimal condition. The technician is responsible for transporting equipment, handling linens, removing trash, and setting up rooms as needed. In addition to cleaning duties, the technician will distribute supplies to various departments and maintain stock levels to ensure that all areas are adequately supplied. Effective communication and competent job performance are essential for gaining the confidence and cooperation of peers and supervisors. The technician must possess strong time management and organizational skills, allowing them to prioritize assignments and work within standardized policies and procedures to meet objectives and deadlines. The ability to work independently and as part of a team is crucial, as the technician will often need to accomplish multiple tasks in an environment with frequent interruptions. Additionally, the technician should be able to identify, evaluate, and resolve standard problems by selecting appropriate solutions from established options, while building collaborative relationships with peers and other staff members to achieve departmental and corporate objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain cleanliness in patient rooms, offices, hallways, and other assigned areas.
  • Perform general cleaning tasks including trash removal and linen handling.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED).
  • Valid Driver's License and Auto Insurance as required by the department.
  • Knowledge of maintaining a sterile environment and proper cleaning procedures.
  • Ability to interpret data and instructions in various forms.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Well-developed time management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to operate basic environmental service equipment.
