About The Position

The Floor Care Technician focuses on Infection Control and Prevention by providing proper cleaning and sanitation throughout the hospital and assigned site campuses. This role involves refining and maintaining floors and carpets, ensuring clean utility rooms, stairwells, freight elevators, and common areas. The technician will also collect and dispose of soiled linen, assist with clean linen distribution, and perform minor general maintenance tasks such as hanging drapes/cubicle curtains and moving furniture.

Requirements

• Basic knowledge of flooring and how to clean all types of floors and carpeting
• Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
• Attention to detail
• Requires wear or personal protective equipment (PPE)
• Ability to lift/move various types of equipment, supplies/chemicals, and furniture of medium weight
• Work requires prolonged sitting, standing, walking, bending, pushing, pulling, lifting and stretching

Responsibilities

• Refine and maintain floors and carpets throughout the main hospital and any assigned campuses
• Ensure clean utility rooms, stairwells, freight elevators, and common areas to visitors and staff
• Collect and dispose of soiled linen, and assist with clean linen distribution, when needed
• Provide minor general maintenance task including but not limited to: hanging drapes/ cubicle curtains, moving furniture, etc…
• All other assigned duties related to Environmental Services
