About the position

This position involves working under the supervision of the Environmental Services/Assistant Director/Supervisors to maintain the hospital in a clean, sanitary, organized, and attractive condition for patients, employees, and visitors. The role requires performing a wide variety of highly demanding physical activities and includes responsibilities such as cleaning and restocking carts and equipment, dust mopping, wet mopping, buffing floors, vacuuming carpets, and transporting furniture and trash. The position is essential for ensuring a safe and hygienic environment within the hospital.

Responsibilities

  • Cleans and restocks all carts and equipment at the end of shift.
  • Cleans assigned areas by performing duties per department policies and procedures.
  • Dust mops, wet mops, and/or buffs the floors using automatic equipment.
  • Vacuums carpets, moving furniture and equipment as needed.
  • Strips and resurfaces hard floors.
  • Shampoos, bonnet buffs, and extracts carpets.
  • Loads, unloads, and transports furniture, equipment, and trash cans.
  • Cleans outside trash area, sweeps entrances, and washes windows.
  • Cleans walls, vents, furnishings, fixtures, ceilings, and other surfaces as directed.
  • Reports any unsafe or hazardous conditions immediately to supervisor.
  • Collects, transports, and stores infectious waste materials.
  • Collects and transports soiled linen throughout the facility and delivers to the Laundry.

Requirements

  • High school education or GED required.
  • Valid Driver's License required.
  • Preferred experience in a similar role.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in housekeeping or environmental services preferred.
