About the position

The Environmental Services Technician (Housekeeping Aid) position at the Department of Veterans Affairs is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and sanitation within the VA Medical Center in Prescott, AZ. This role is essential for ensuring a safe and hygienic environment for patients and their families, performing a variety of cleaning tasks under the supervision of the Housekeeping Supervisor. The position requires both light and heavy cleaning duties, contributing significantly to the patient care experience.

Responsibilities

  • Perform light and heavy cleaning duties in patient areas, including wards, patient rooms, and restrooms.
  • Sweep, mop, scrub, and vacuum floors and carpets.
  • Empty waste baskets and discard trash.
  • Clean light fixtures, windows, walls, and ceilings.
  • Refill toilet tissue and towel dispensers.
  • Move furniture as needed for cleaning purposes.
  • Address spills and maintain cleanliness in a timely manner.

Requirements

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • Ability to follow directions and handle weights and loads safely.
  • Demonstrated reliability and dependability in previous roles.
  • Special aptitude for housekeeping work and practices.
