About the position
The Environmental Task Manager/Senior Scientist position at Whitman involves managing environmental projects and conducting fieldwork. The role requires a strong scientific background and excellent communication skills to support project managers and LSRPs. The candidate will be responsible for overseeing multiple projects, ensuring compliance with NJ environmental regulations, and preparing various technical reports. Responsibilities
- Performing task management responsibilities to support Whitman Project Managers/LSRPs.
- Performing Site/Remedial Investigations.
- Preparing Preliminary Assessment Reports, Site Investigation Reports, Remedial Investigation Reports, Remedial Action Work Plans, Remedial Action Reports, and supporting LSRP documentation.
- Understanding of analytical requirements and procedures.
- Management and evaluation of data.
- Performing environmental permitting activities.
- Interaction and coordination with clients, subcontractors and regulatory agency staff.
Requirements
- B.S. in Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field.
- 5+ years of experience.
- Strong verbal communication skills.
- Highly proficient in technical writing with minimal review.
- Strong working knowledge of and experience working with NJ Technical Requirements for Site Remediation, Administrative Requirements for the Remediation of Contaminated Sites and Field Sampling Procedures Manual.
- Demonstrates initiative and motivation for excellence, and is highly organized, with minimal supervision needed.
- Proficiency in data management and tabulation.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office programs (i.e., Word, Excel), Microsoft Teams, and Adobe Acrobat.
- Experience in CAD is a plus.
