About the position

The Environmental Team Member at Michaels is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and overall appearance of the store, ensuring a welcoming environment for customers. This part-time role involves various cleaning tasks, customer service interactions, and supporting store operations while adhering to company standards and safety guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Maintain store cleanliness and recovery standards to deliver brand promises.
• Deliver friendly customer service and assist customers in finding products.
• Collect and dispose of trash following approved procedures.
• Dust and damp mop floors according to established procedures.
• Move equipment and products for proper cleaning and return them to their correct placement.
• Deep clean key areas of the store, including bathrooms and breakrooms, to maintain a safe environment.
• Keep cleaning equipment organized and notify supervisors of supply needs.
• Seek out areas requiring cleaning and take initiative to complete tasks.
• Complete all tasks assigned by the supervisor in accordance with guidelines.
• Project a positive image and serve as a role model for other team members.

Requirements

• Retail and/or cleaning experience preferred.
• Ability to remain standing for long periods of time.
• Ability to move throughout the store and perform regular bending, lifting, carrying, reaching, and stretching.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in cash handling.
• Knowledge of customer service best practices.
