About the position
The Environmental Technician I position at Clean Earth involves working as part of a dedicated team responsible for the safe handling and disposal of hazardous waste. This role is physically demanding and requires compliance with environmental regulations while ensuring the health and safety of employees. Technicians will be trained to consolidate, treat, store, transport, and dispose of hazardous materials, contributing to the company's mission of recycling and beneficial reuse of waste.
Responsibilities
- Consolidate, treat, store, transport, and dispose of hazardous waste in compliance with regulations.
- Lift and carry up to 50 pounds throughout the workday.
- Operate forklifts and other mobile equipment to move containers and load/unload trailers.
- Complete required documentation accurately and timely according to regulations and customer policies.
- Work outdoors in various climate conditions and indoors in non-climate-controlled environments.
Requirements
- Ability to repeatedly lift and carry 50 pounds throughout the workday.
- Ability to stand and walk over uneven surfaces for extended periods.
- Visual acuity to read labels and documentation; depth perception to safely drive forklifts.
- Ability to hear vehicle warning chimes and alarms.
- Willingness to wear company-issued personal protection equipment.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience in warehouse or manufacturing environment.
- Basic computer skills for web-based training.
- Ability to understand and respond to written and verbal English.
