About the position

The Environmental Technician II position at Clean Earth involves managing and processing hazardous waste materials. The role requires knowledge of waste treatment protocols and the ability to operate various equipment safely. The technician will be responsible for paperwork compliance, sample collection, and resolving issues with inbound waste loads, contributing to the company's mission of providing effective environmental services.

Responsibilities

  • Complete required paperwork in accordance with our practices and procedures
  • Collect samples of inbound waste for compatibility
  • Unload bulk liquid trucks to proper tank
  • Resolve and report issues with inbound loads
  • Operate hi-lo and end loaders in a safe manner
  • Have knowledge of our waste streams and their treatment protocol
  • Perform other reasonably related duties as assigned by management

Requirements

  • 2+ years of prior experience working with hazardous materials
  • Ability to operate equipment, including a forklift and pallet jack
  • Ability to wear company provided personal protection equipment including eye protection, steel toed shoes, hard hat, gloves, Tyvek coveralls, and respirator
  • Must be able to read, write and speak in English
  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Must be able to work indoor and outdoor in all weather conditions

Nice-to-haves

  • Proficiency with Windows based programs (i.e. Excel and Word)
  • Knowledge of OSHA, DOT, and RCRA Regulations
  • Ability to operate a powered industrial truck, e.g., forklift and possesses safe driving record
  • Able to work in a team environment or alone based on business needs
  • Good attendance record and safe work history
  • Able to operate end loader or back hoe
