About the position

The Environmental Technician role at Clean Earth involves working in the field of environmental sustainability, focusing on the removal and management of hazardous materials. This position is physically demanding and requires adherence to environmental regulations while ensuring safe and compliant waste disposal practices. Technicians will be part of a dedicated team, gaining valuable experience in environmental services and contributing to a cleaner planet.

Responsibilities

• Consolidate, treat, store, transport, and/or dispose of hazardous waste in compliance with regulations.
• Complete required documentation accurately and timely according to applicable regulations and customer policies.
• Operate forklifts and other mobile equipment to move containers and load/unload trailers.
• Lift and carry up to 50 pounds throughout the workday.
• Work outdoors in various climate conditions and indoors in non-climate-controlled environments.

Requirements

• Ability to repeatedly lift and carry 50 pounds throughout the workday.
• Ability to stand and walk over uneven surfaces for extended periods.
• Visual acuity to read labels and documentation; depth perception to safely drive forklifts.
• Ability to hear vehicle warning chimes and alarms.
• Willingness to wear personal protective equipment including safety glasses, hard hat, steel-toed shoes, gloves, Tyvek coveralls, and respirator.

Nice-to-haves

• High school diploma or GED.
• Experience in warehouse or manufacturing environment.
• Basic computer skills for web-based training.
• Ability to understand and respond to written and verbal English.
• Ability to deal politely and professionally with customers and coworkers.
