About the position

The Environmental Technician role at AECOM involves supporting remedial operations, maintenance, and monitoring projects at client facilities. The position requires hands-on mechanical experience and knowledge in environmental remediation and sampling, with a focus on groundwater treatment systems and soil remediation. The technician will work closely with the Project Manager and perform various fieldwork tasks under supervision.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine fieldwork such as environmental multi-media sampling, operations, maintenance, and inspection of equipment under close supervision.
• Support project staff with routine tasks.
• Conduct operations and maintenance activities associated with remediation systems, including extraction of hydrocarbons and impacted vapor and groundwater.
• Perform recovery system maintenance as needed and monitor groundwater, compiling field data.
• Set up and operate equipment, inspect installations for compliance, and maintain project documentation.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent plus 2 years of relevant experience or equivalent education/experience.
• Ability to travel to various field site locations using an AECOM company vehicle.
• Possess a valid driver's license and clean driving record.
• Pass a State and Federal criminal history/security pre-employment background check.
• Pass a pre-employment drug screen.
• Physically able to work in outdoor environments with uneven terrain and variable conditions.
