About the position

The Technical Support & Application Developer will be part of the EOS - Application Support team at First Hawaiian Bank, responsible for designing, developing, and implementing technology solutions to digitize and automate business processes. This role includes providing technical support to end-users and troubleshooting software and hardware issues related to EOS enterprise applications. The position offers a dynamic work environment with opportunities for growth and stability.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and implement technology solutions for digitizing and automating business processes.
  • Provide technical support to end-users and troubleshoot software and hardware issues for EOS enterprise applications.
  • Develop applications with a strong portfolio of completed projects.
  • Write complex queries and design databases using SQL, Python, and Oracle.
  • Utilize application frameworks and libraries for building applications.
  • Manage code changes using version control and bank-approved systems.
  • Apply Agile software development practices in project execution.
  • Build test cases and debug applications effectively.
  • Implement deployment strategies and tools for production applications.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders at all levels and external parties such as consultants and vendors.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in API Integrations, User Interface, Web Development, Development Ops, or equivalent experience required.
  • 5 years of experience in application development with a strong portfolio.
  • Working knowledge of database systems such as SQL, Python, and Oracle.
  • Experience with application frameworks and libraries for building applications.
  • Demonstrated experience using version control systems.
  • Experience with Agile software development practices.
  • Ability to build test cases and debug applications effectively.
  • Familiarity with deployment strategies and tools for production applications.
  • Proficient in Python, SQL, HTML, ASP, ASP.NET 2.0 (C#), CSS, SQL Server, IIS, and browsers.
  • Excellent oral, interpersonal, and written communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's degree in computer science or information technology systems, with an emphasis on business processes highly desirable.
  • Experience building multi-tiered applications.
  • Possesses presentation and training skills.
  • Research skills to enhance business development objectives.
