About The Position

The EP Equipment Supervisor position within the NCDA&CS Division of Emergency Programs (EP) is a critical role aimed at supporting the agricultural community and protecting consumers by managing the division's fleet of vehicles, trailers, heavy equipment, and specialized agricultural response equipment. This position is responsible for overseeing the acquisition, replacement, repair, and service of the division's equipment, ensuring that all logistics related to the distribution and deployment of this equipment to various department locations across North Carolina are efficiently managed. Additionally, the supervisor will oversee the maintenance of the EP Warehouse located in Clayton, NC, and will act as the Ground Support Unit Leader in the Logistics Section for the Department's Incident Management Team during disaster and emergency responses. The role requires a strong understanding of the operating principles and mechanics of internal combustion engines, as well as knowledge of welding and electrical diagnostics. The supervisor must be able to diagnose mechanical issues, plan and initiate repair activities, and maintain accurate equipment records. Leadership and interpersonal skills are essential, as the supervisor will need to maintain effective working relationships with team members during high-stress situations. The position also offers a flexible telework option, subject to management discretion, and requires residency within one hour of Clayton, NC. Pre-employment drug testing is mandatory for this role.
