About the position

The Field Engineer will collaborate with a project construction team to execute utility-scale solar and Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects. This role involves assisting the site manager and working closely with field supervision to ensure successful project execution, including managing project documents, coordinating with stakeholders, and tracking project progress.

Responsibilities

  • Review and manage project documents, drawings, permits, and reports throughout the construction process.
  • Collect on-site data and prepare necessary reports for review.
  • Track and submit weekly production and productivity trackers.
  • Coordinate and attend field meetings with clients and stakeholders to review project schedule and progress.
  • Provide schedule and progress updates in coordination with the Field Superintendent, General Foreman, Foremen, and Project Manager.
  • Create Requests for Information (RFI), change orders, and cost estimates with input from the Superintendent.
  • Identify out-of-scope work or changes in conditions that require an RFI and notify appropriate stakeholders.
  • Track and monitor project as-builts and final submittals.
  • Work with the Project Manager and Scheduler to update the project schedule.
  • Prepare project budgets for internal tracking and maintain an understanding of costs and budget thresholds.
  • Provide field supervision with production and productivity information, material tracking, and other administrative functions.
  • Summarize and track time and material paperwork.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or working towards a Construction or Project Management Degree preferred.
  • Background in renewables if no degree is held.
  • Construction background or a desire to learn about the construction industry.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite, BlueBeam, and web-based software applications.
  • Ability to read and understand Civil, Structural, Mechanical, and Electrical drawings.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing job requirements.
  • Dependability and punctuality for all CSI activities.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and display leadership skills.
  • Positive attitude and customer focus.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize.
