About the position

The Epic Ambulatory Analyst plays a crucial role in supporting the planning, design, development, and configuration of Epic's Ambulatory clinical applications. This position requires a solid understanding of clinical operations within ambulatory practices, acting as the primary support contact for end-users and ensuring that the system meets the organization's business needs. The analyst will guide workflow design, troubleshoot issues, and communicate necessary changes to various teams, all while maintaining regular communication with Epic representatives and participating in project meetings.

Responsibilities

  • Support the planning, design, development, and configuration of Epic's Ambulatory clinical applications.
  • Act as the primary support contact for end-users of the application.
  • Identify and resolve issues that arise in the application area and those impacting other application teams.
  • Guide workflow design, build, and test the system, analyzing technical issues associated with Epic software.
  • Implement requested changes to the system and serve as a liaison between end users and Epic implementation staff.
  • Communicate application changes, enhancements, and procedures to necessary department teams.
  • Maintain regular communication with Epic representatives and participate in weekly project team meetings.
  • Work with business partners and end users to ensure the system meets organizational needs regarding project deliverables and timelines.
  • Develop an understanding of clinical and operational needs to set workflow direction through site visits and workflow sessions.
  • Participate in the development of end-user training processes and curriculum content.
  • Troubleshoot problems and questions from end users.
  • Review project status and issues with the manager on an ongoing basis.
  • Attend weekly meetings to discuss deliverables, issues, end-user concerns, budget, and milestones.
  • Build application-specific workflows or processes for ambulatory practices and users.
  • Complete testing cycles including unit, functional, and integration testing, coordinating with end-users for signoff.
  • Conduct system enhancements, build, upgrades, and optimization, ensuring compliance with change management procedures.

Requirements

  • Associate's Degree required or High School Diploma with two years' experience as an analyst in an electronic healthcare record system or experience in data collection management.
  • Current EpicCare Ambulatory certification required, to be completed within 45 days of SVMHS-sponsored Epic training.
  • A minimum of two years of experience in electronic health record systems analysis, design, build, and support required.
  • Experience with data collection procedures and data management is required.
  • Ability to translate and write functional specifications, develop and document operational procedures, and test software.

Benefits

  • Competitive hourly rate ranging from $51.60 to $64.50.
  • Full-time employment with a scheduled 40 hours per week.
