About the position

The Epic Applications Analyst for Revenue Cycle IT Services plays a crucial role in analyzing, designing, testing, debugging, integrating, implementing, training, maintaining, and supporting healthcare and business-related computer systems. This position requires a close collaboration with business units to gain a comprehensive understanding of the customer's business strategy, processes, services, and the operational context. The analyst is responsible for establishing and maintaining professional relationships with both internal and external customers to ensure that their information technology needs are effectively addressed. In this role, the analyst will work with customers to analyze system needs, translating these needs into functional and technical specifications, and developing technology solutions to resolve application process challenges. The analyst will also act as a mentor to Epic Associate Applications Analysts, providing guidance and support as needed. The position involves a commitment to the mission, vision, and core values of the organization, ensuring that the patient experience is continuously improved through quality care and excellent service. The principal job functions include analyzing, developing, modifying, and maintaining application processes and technologies, utilizing proprietary software tools. The analyst will convert user specifications into functional and technical specifications, assist in the development of implementation timeframes, and manage vendor and operational customer relationships. Troubleshooting computer issues, writing and reviewing system documentation, and applying standard testing methodologies are also key responsibilities. The analyst will participate in an On Point rotation to provide consistent support and will coordinate with cross-functional teams to refine processes and develop integrated workflows. Continuous education and participation in departmental projects are encouraged to advance knowledge and skills.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze, design, test, debug, integrate, implement, train, maintain, and support healthcare and business-related computer systems.
  • Work closely with business units to understand customer business strategies and processes.
  • Establish and maintain professional relationships with internal and external customers.
  • Translate identified system needs into functional and technical specifications.
  • Develop technology solutions to resolve application process challenges.
  • Mentor Epic Associate Applications Analysts as appropriate.
  • Analyze, develop, modify, and maintain application processes and technologies.
  • Convert user specifications into functional and technical specifications.
  • Assist in the development of implementation timeframes and manage vendor relationships.
  • Troubleshoot computer issues and resolve incidents according to service level agreements.
  • Write and review system documentation and training materials.
  • Apply standard testing methodology to new and modified systems.
  • Commit to continuous improvement of patient experience and quality of care.
  • Participate in On Point rotation for consistent support to customers.
  • Provide timely updates to stakeholders regarding system enhancement requests and issues.
  • Conduct analysis of information, processes, and systems to recommend solutions.
  • Coordinate with other analysts to develop integrated workflows.
  • Participate in meetings, committees, and department projects as assigned.

Requirements

  • Associates or technical degree in information technology, medical, allied health, or business area required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of two (2) years' experience in related healthcare or business area required.
  • Minimum of two (2) years' experience in analysis, design, implementation, support, and maintenance of computer systems required.
  • Previous experience with implementing, configuring, and/or supporting vendor-supplied software required.
  • Epic certification required.

Nice-to-haves

  • Additional Epic certification must be obtained within four (4) months from date of hire.
  • Experience in healthcare IT systems.
