About the position

Legacy Health is seeking an Epic Applications Systems Analyst III for a remote position available exclusively to residents of Oregon and Washington. This role is integral to our Information Services team, which is dedicated to enhancing the lives of our staff, patients, and visitors through effective information systems. The successful candidate will be responsible for analyzing, building, testing, supporting, and maintaining systems that benefit our hospital system and the communities we serve. This position requires a strong understanding of Epic workflows, as well as the ability to communicate effectively with various stakeholders, including users and IS peers. In this role, you will collaborate with users to capture business needs and develop detailed specifications for moderately complex applications. You will analyze and document application processes, define design alternatives, and make recommendations in collaboration with business partners or vendors. Additionally, you will be responsible for building or configuring systems, developing and executing test scripts to ensure software accuracy, and providing production support to troubleshoot and solve complex problems. The position also involves communicating with customers regarding the status of requests in a timely manner, documenting processes in the ITSM system, and following change control processes diligently. You will have the opportunity to mentor teammates, facilitate large group meetings, and represent the team in broader organizational initiatives. Utilizing Lean and ITIL principles, you will investigate and improve existing processes while managing small to medium projects according to Legacy IS standards. This role requires a high degree of autonomy and a strong customer service orientation, making it essential for the candidate to possess excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

  • Collaboratively work with users and IS peers to understand and capture business needs and develop requirements and detailed specifications for moderately complex applications.
  • Analyze and document application processes and functions.
  • Define design alternatives and recommendations in collaboration with business partners or vendors.
  • Build or configure systems as needed.
  • Develop and execute test scripts to ensure software accuracy, completion, and validity.
  • Develop IS internal procedures and documentation.
  • Troubleshoot and solve complex problems while providing production support to customers.
  • Communicate with customers regarding the status and completion of requests in a timely manner according to Service Level Agreements (SLA).
  • Document processes in the ITSM system to define standards.
  • Follow change control processes diligently when applicable.
  • Mentor teammates proactively.
  • Facilitate large group meetings, discussions, or workgroups to drive results and create momentum for problem solving.
  • Serve on committees or take on leadership functions representing the team in broader organizational initiatives.
  • Use Lean and ITIL principles to investigate and improve existing inter- or intra-team processes.
  • Manage small to medium projects to Legacy IS standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree preferred; relevant experience may substitute for educational requirements.
  • 5+ years of information technology experience in a relevant healthcare or business area.
  • Experience as an analyst in a healthcare setting or relevant operational area (e.g., Human Resources, Finance, Accounting, Revenue Cycle) or in an information technology role.
  • Highly knowledgeable about key concepts, current developments, and trends in information technology and information systems relevant to the position, including application configuration and layers, system integration, and database fundamentals.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a consistent ability to initiate client problem resolution.
  • Strong understanding of system integration key concepts and technical protocols.
  • Ability to establish, conceive, and describe systems, designs, flow charts, schedules, and requirements effectively.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to promote effective working relationships with a wide range of people, including peers, clinicians, and senior leaders.
  • Highly effective verbal and written communication skills.
