About the position

The Epic Associate Applications Analyst plays a crucial role in the Revenue Cycle IT Services at Bryan Health. This position is responsible for analyzing, designing, testing, debugging, integrating, implementing, training, maintaining, and supporting healthcare and business-related computer systems. The analyst will establish and maintain professional relationships with both internal and external customers to ensure that their information technology needs are effectively addressed. This involves working closely with customers to analyze their system needs, translating these needs into functional and technical specifications, and making recommendations for technology solutions to resolve application process challenges or problems. In this role, the analyst will commit to the mission, vision, and core values of Bryan Health. They will analyze, develop, modify, and maintain application processes and technologies, utilizing proprietary software tools as necessary. The analyst will evaluate customer specifications and support them in developing Information Technology requests, while also establishing professional relationships to enhance their experiences with the technology and computer systems provided by Bryan Health System. The position requires troubleshooting of computer issues, including processes and workflow, as well as hardware and software-related problems. The analyst will resolve incidents according to established service level agreements and collaborate with other IT resources to develop effective solutions. Additionally, the analyst will recommend updates to system documentation, apply standard testing methodologies, and participate in the continuous improvement of patient experiences, which includes patient safety and quality of care. The analyst will also participate in the development of implementation timeframes, installation, and testing of applications, while monitoring and evaluating application performance. They will adhere to departmental processes, provide timely updates to stakeholders regarding system enhancement requests, and evaluate operational workflows to provide input into gap analysis and decision-making. Collaboration with cross-functional teams and coordination with other analysts will be essential to develop and define integrated workflows. The analyst will also conduct analysis of information, processes, and systems, recommending solutions and managing technology needs for customers. Overall, this position is integral to ensuring the effective use of technology in supporting healthcare operations at Bryan Health.

Responsibilities

  • Analyzes, develops, modifies and maintains application processes and technologies.
  • Evaluates customers' specifications and makes recommendations to convert them into functional and technical specifications.
  • Establishes professional relationships with internal and external customers.
  • Troubleshoots computer issues, including processes/workflow, hardware and software related problems.
  • Recommends updates to system documentation to describe system processes and operating procedures.
  • Applies standard testing methodology to the review and testing of new and modified systems.
  • Participates in the development of implementation timeframes in partnership with co-workers and operations.
  • Adheres to IT departmental processes, including time tracking and change management.
  • Provides timely updates to stakeholders regarding system enhancement requests and break-fix issues.
  • Evaluates operational workflow and system features, providing input into gap analysis and decision-making.

Requirements

  • Associates or technical degree in an information technology area, medical, allied health, or business area of study required.
  • Epic certification required.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Knowledge of operations, workflow and processes related to specific area of application support preferred.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with all levels of personnel and medical staff.
  • Ability to work independently or as a team member as situations dictate.
  • Ability to deliver excellent customer service.

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge of computer hardware equipment and software applications relevant to work functions preferred.
  • Knowledge of system interface analysis and comprehensive testing processes preferred.
  • Ability to analyze problems, identify needs/priorities/risks, manage change and implement effective work strategies.
