About the position

The Clinical Applications Analyst 1 for Epic Beaker Anatomic & Clinical Pathology at Licking Memorial Health Systems is responsible for the design, build, testing, and implementation of information systems that enhance clinical practices. This role involves troubleshooting, software design, and regular communication with end users to optimize technology for improved patient care. The analyst will work closely with other team members to support the Epic system and ensure effective workflow processes.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for planning, design, build, testing and implementing of information systems that support and enhance clinical practices.
  • Independently evaluate systems, analyze complex issues and problems, test data and assist customers in reaching resolution(s).
  • Elicit customer requirements and design technical solutions that meet the customer's needs.
  • Participate and lead testing of module updates, enhancements, custom programming, and new releases.
  • Provide ongoing maintenance and support for assigned applications with little to no assistance.
  • Provide training for physicians, nurses, and other clinical staff on new computer systems, application upgrades, and new functionality.
  • Administer competencies following training sessions.
  • Utilize current issue tracking software to document contact with customers and resolutions to issues.
  • Manage IS related & non-IS related projects with limited management oversight.
  • Work effectively with team members, maintain strong communication skills, and uphold a professional demeanor.

Requirements

  • Relevant health care IT or Clinical experience.
  • Epic certification required or experience in the Epic Beaker Laboratory systems (Epic certification is required within 6 months from employment).
  • Familiar with lab workflows, regulatory requirements, integration points and patient experience.
  • Prior experience as a Laboratory Technician is desired.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, presentation and communication skills required to interact effectively with all levels of the organization and external contacts.
  • Strong skills in PC desktop applications such as MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to work flexible schedules to meet job requirements; requires occasional after-hours support.

Nice-to-haves

  • Previous teaching/training and project management experience is a plus.
  • Bachelor's/Associate Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Health Information, Business Administration, Laboratory or other clinical discipline.
