About the position

The Application Developer at OCHIN plays a crucial role in supporting the organization's mission by developing, configuring, and maintaining Epic electronic health records (EHR) software for member clinics. This position involves collaborating with a dedicated team to design, build, test, and implement application functionalities, while also addressing technical challenges and enhancing existing features. The role emphasizes the importance of health equity and aims to provide innovative solutions to improve healthcare delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Develop new features, integrations, and reports for the Epic EMR system.
  • Program in Cache and understand the Epic database system.
  • Perform complex build and configuration in Epic and related products.
  • Lead working sessions with OCHIN members to design workflows that meet operational needs.
  • Provide workflow solutions and hands-on training to ensure understanding of the system.
  • Maintain documentation, team processes, and complex clinic workflows.
  • Collaborate with other OCHIN teams to address integration issues.
  • Mentor other OCHIN analysts and support clinic staff during Go-Lives and Dress Rehearsals.
  • Provide expert-level support to customers and analysts.
  • Build, design, test, and document new features.
  • Maintain thorough documentation, timekeeping, and reporting of all project activities.
  • Contribute best practices, lessons learned, and innovative ideas.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Epic Certification in at least one application, preferably in Resolute HB.
  • At least 5 years' experience as an Epic Analyst with deep knowledge of Resolute HB Hospital Billing.
  • Knowledge of Cache (Epic text) is preferred.
  • Five years of experience in a development role, preferably in a Cache environment.
  • Deep knowledge of Epic data structures is required.
  • Experience with Linux/Unix operating systems is a plus.
  • Knowledge of additional programming languages (SQL, .NET, UNIX scripting, Node.JS, or Javascript) is a plus.
  • Experience supporting both technical and non-technical end users with a commitment to outstanding customer service.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively communicate with diverse audiences.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and see tasks through to successful completion.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to analyze complex problems and take a proactive and creative approach to solving them.
