About the position

The Epic Instructional Designer is responsible for mastering the Epic application/system and Temple clinical and operational workflows. This role involves managing the development and implementation of training programs for assigned applications and impacted end users, participating in workflow designs and system builds, and preparing documentation and course materials for role-based education. The designer will also maintain training environments, schedule courses, and collaborate with Credentialed Trainers to deliver end user training, while acting as a resource for E-Learning course development and onboarding education.

Responsibilities

  • Master the Epic application/system and Temple clinical and operational workflows.
  • Manage the development and implementation of training programs for assigned applications and impacted end users.
  • Participate in workflow designs and system builds to gain in-depth knowledge of system functionality.
  • Prepare and maintain documentation and all course materials for role-based education.
  • Maintain and prepare training environments for each training class.
  • Work with training coordinators to schedule appropriate courses.
  • Ensure all materials for each course are ready for scheduled classes.
  • Collaborate with Credentialed Trainers to deliver end user training.
  • Act as a resource for E-Learning course development and ongoing new hire education.
  • Provide go-live/end-user support and demonstrations of the Epic system.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Systems, Clinical or Technical; Education (Required)
  • 5 years of experience and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite - Outlook, Word, Excel, Visio, etc. (Required)
  • Combination of relevant education and experience may be considered in lieu of degree.

Nice-to-haves

  • 5 years of experience with Epic projects (Preferred)
  • 5 years of experience working in a hospital/health care environment (Preferred)
  • EC - Epic Certification (Preferred)
