About the position

The Epic Optimization Systems Analyst Senior position at Integrated Health Technologies is a pivotal role within a mission-centered Catholic healthcare organization. This position is designed for seasoned Epic professionals who are passionate about optimizing healthcare systems and enhancing productivity and accuracy through innovative solutions. The successful candidate will be responsible for taking the initiative as a subject matter expert in Epic functionality and integrated third-party applications, guiding decision-making processes that align with the organization's goals. The role requires a deep understanding of Epic systems, as well as the ability to evaluate new software solutions that can further improve operational efficiency. In this role, you will partner with service lines and business leaders to assess business needs and translate them into necessary technical enhancements. You will lead functional teams or projects that involve significant resource requirements and complexity, ensuring that core business applications are implemented and stabilized effectively. Your responsibilities will include identifying application infrastructure needs, associated hardware, endpoints, and databases, as well as proactively solving complex problems using innovative methods that can impact business direction and performance. Additionally, you will develop, analyze, prioritize, and organize technical requirement specifications using data, diagrams, and flowcharts to inform decision-making. Building strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders will be crucial for strategically influencing project scope, system goals, and requirements. You will also be involved in coding complex functions, building application tables and reports for multiple Epic applications, and ensuring quality delivery through rigorous testing. Troubleshooting and resolving complex integrated issues will be part of your daily tasks, requiring collaboration with vendors to address any challenges that arise.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with service lines and business leaders to research business needs and translate them into technical enhancements necessary for configuration and business process changes.
  • Develop proposals that outline feasibility and costs.
  • Lead functional teams or projects in a project management role with significant resource requirements, risk, and/or complexity.
  • Implement and stabilize core business applications, identifying application infrastructure needs, associated hardware, endpoints, and databases.
  • Proactively identify and solve the most complex problems using innovative methods that impact business direction and drive performance.
  • Determine best practices for scalability, supportability, ease of maintenance, and system performance.
  • Develop, analyze, prioritize, and organize technical requirement specifications using data, diagrams, and flowcharts to inform decision making.
  • Develop relationships with internal and external stakeholders to strategically influence project scope, system goals, and requirements.
  • Code complex functions including building application tables and reports for multiple Epic applications and test builds to ensure quality delivery to business partners.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex integrated issues crossing applications and work with vendors to solve issues.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field, or equivalent years of experience and education.
  • Five years' relevant experience with Epic functionality, design, configuration, and technical environment concepts/functions.
  • Experience in Epic builds required.
  • Epic certified in one or more modules.

Nice-to-haves

  • Additional certifications and/or experience in Ambulatory, Cogito, MyChart, Healthy Planet preferred.
