About the position

The Epic Research Certified Systems Analyst I position at Adventist Health involves performing various duties related to information systems applications, including design, implementation, support, and testing of software. The role requires collaboration with project and support teams to ensure alignment with established processes and procedures, ultimately enhancing the efficiency of healthcare IT applications.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain routine system software according to established standards and departmental protocols.
  • Evaluate user requests for special enhancements to system software.
  • Gather specifications for the purchase, development, and installation of system software from customers.
  • Maintain service level agreements with various end-user departments and enterprise business units.
  • Participate in analysis of documentation and workflows in departments, designing or redesigning system components to support workflows.
  • Assist in analyzing existing methods and developing alternatives to increase operations and production efficiency.
  • Perform needs assessments for complex workflows, customers, and clinical/revenue areas.
  • Assist in analysis and documentation of reporting needs of end users.
  • Follow project work plans and coordinate assigned duties with project team members.
  • Identify potential process- and/or department-specific risks and assist in strategies to mitigate or resolve them.
  • Research, document, and facilitate resolutions to issues reported by end-users.
  • Test system software per checklist guidelines and participate in the development of test scenarios.
  • Collaborate with technical teams to research and problem-solve technical issues.
  • Assist in the presentation of training to various audiences.
  • Ensure system documentation is current and accessible to customers.
  • Support optimization activities to ensure effective system use by staff.
  • Be responsible for ongoing on-call duties for one or more applications generating incidents outside of business hours.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve system issues escalated by the Help Desk.
  • Travel on-site to provide support during go-live events and other work-related occasions, up to 25% of the time.

Requirements

  • Associate's/Technical Degree or equivalent combination of education/related experience: Required
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education/related experience: Preferred
  • Zero to Two Years Healthcare IT application/technical experience: Preferred
  • Epic Certification/Accreditation in area of responsibility: Required
  • Epic Research Certification and experience with Clinical Tools: Required
