About the position

At North Mississippi Health Services, our mission is to continuously improve the health of the people of our region. We are seeking an Analyst for the Application Revenue Cycle, specifically focusing on the EPIC system. This role is crucial as it serves as the EPIC revenue cycle systems specialist and overall administrator of application and system functionality. The Analyst will be responsible for the configuration and integration of applications and modules, providing recommendations on system and functionality improvements, and planning for new module implementations. This position requires collaboration with operational teams, IT team members, trainers, and the Management Information Systems (MIS) Manager to ensure optimal functionality and use of the Epic revenue cycle system. The Analyst will possess extensive knowledge of Epic Revenue cycle systems and/or clinic operations, acting as the highest level application specialist. Responsibilities include the configuration and build of Cadence, Prelude, Resolute, and other Epic Revenue cycle modules, with input from subject matter experts. The role also involves understanding the integration of Epic applications and their effects on business processes and operations. Staying updated on functionality improvements in new versions and testing during upgrades is essential, as is ensuring that version upgrades function smoothly through rigorous testing. In addition to technical responsibilities, the Analyst will aid in planning for major new modules by assessing configuration needs and defining processes and tasks. This includes coordinating activities and assigning projects, as well as training and mentoring new analysts. The role requires attending and leading meetings to discuss team and project-related activities, issues, changes, communications, and updates. Achieving and maintaining certification status in assigned applications is also a key responsibility, along with completing project tasks within timelines assigned by the IT Manager. The Analyst will champion projects and provide support in ongoing implementations, optimizations, and upgrades.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the EPIC revenue cycle systems specialist and overall administrator of application and system functionality.
  • Configure and build Cadence, Prelude, Resolute, and other Epic Revenue cycle modules with input from subject matter experts.
  • Understand the integration of Epic applications and their effects on business processes and operations.
  • Stay updated on functionality improvements in new versions and test during upgrades.
  • Plan for major new modules by assessing configuration needs and defining processes and tasks.
  • Train and mentor new analysts.
  • Provide system configuration and new project development, design implementation, workflow optimization, change management, and issue resolution related to the Clinic's applications.
  • Attend and lead meetings to discuss team and project-related activities, issues, changes, communications, and updates.
  • Achieve and maintain certification status in assigned application(s) and working knowledge of other related applications.
  • Complete project tasks within timelines assigned by the IT Manager.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field or High School Diploma with 8 years of Revenue Cycle experience beyond the minimum requirement.
  • 5 years prior experience with both technical support and design of electronic health record, revenue cycle systems, and other healthcare IT systems.
  • Proven ability to organize and lead clinical system project initiatives.
  • Effective organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills with critical and creative thinking abilities.
  • Ability to work closely with other Epic Analysts and Epic Trainers for effective development and user utilization of medical information systems.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to analyze end user needs and develop plans to meet those needs.
  • Ability to achieve deadlines and demonstrate a strong work ethic.
  • Positive customer-oriented image to all system users, vendors, and Management/Leadership.
  • Seen as a leader in the work community and a 'go to' person for Epic requests.
