About the position

The Epic Information Systems Revenue Cycle Associate Analyst plays a crucial role in the AdventHealth Information Technology department, focusing on the integration and optimization of clinical and business systems. This position requires a comprehensive understanding of system build and implementation, as well as the ability to analyze business problems and recommend solutions that align with organizational goals. The primary objective is to provide a secure, effective, and integrated patient care delivery system that continually improves outcomes, reduces costs, increases efficiency, and enhances patient experiences. In this role, the Associate Analyst will collaborate closely with clinicians and end users to design, build, test, train, implement, evaluate, and maintain Epic and associated systems. This involves utilizing knowledge of clinical and business practices, computer science, and information technology to manage data effectively and determine suitable components for system builds. The Analyst will coordinate with physicians and end users to analyze and document workflows, perform gap analyses, identify necessary process changes, and develop future workflows during the implementation of new solutions or functionalities. Effective communication with all levels of hospital leadership, clinicians, physicians, and ancillary department staff is essential for success in this position. The Analyst will also be responsible for maintaining system process documentation, designing and developing test scripts for end-to-end workflow testing, and ensuring compliance with departmental standards for software configuration control and quality assurance. They will troubleshoot system issues, participate in cross-functional projects, and provide on-call support for a 24/7 production systems environment. This role is integral to the ongoing development and maintenance of Epic systems, ensuring that all software modifications and upgrades meet Epic specifications and enhance the overall functionality of the healthcare delivery system.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with clinicians and end users to design, build, test, train, implement, evaluate, and maintain Epic and associated systems.
  • Utilize knowledge of clinical and business practices, computer science, and information technology to manage data and determine suitable components for system builds.
  • Coordinate with physicians and end users in the analysis and documentation of workflows, performing gap analysis, and identifying needed process changes.
  • Develop future workflows during the implementation of new solutions or functionalities.
  • Communicate effectively with all levels of hospital leadership, clinicians, physicians, and ancillary department staff.
  • Design, build, and configure within assigned Epic system modules and any supporting third-party applications.
  • Develop and maintain system process documentation and outlines process steps using appropriate tools.
  • Design and develop test scripts and materials for end-to-end workflow testing; perform unit, system, and integration testing per standards.
  • Remain current on industry trends and vendor/application/system updates; ensure software modifications/upgrades are working according to Epic specifications.
  • Follow departmental standards for software configuration control, quality assurance, and version releases; provide documentation on system upgrades and new releases of Epic applications.
  • Troubleshoot issues or system deficiencies and initiate escalation procedures as required; provide recommendations for resolution of problems found.
  • Participate in multiple cross-functional projects; understand project planning and coordination methodologies using project management skills, tools, and lean methodologies.
  • Actively participate in project, team, departmental, and other meetings as required; report status updates, accomplishments, tasks, and any barriers to the manager.
  • Participate in on-call responsibilities in support of a 24/7 production systems environment; act as the primary support contact for the application's end-users.

Requirements

  • Yearly participation in ongoing education either formal or through conferences, active professional organization participation, or journal presentations.
  • Maintenance of current licensure or certification related to area of specialty (OT, OT, SLP, RN, RPH, RT, AART, AHIMA, HFMA, NAHAM, etc.).
  • Epic Certification or ability to complete certification within 3 months of completing classes.
  • Epic HIM Identity experience needed and certification in Identity preferred.
