About the position

The Epic Revenue Cycle Intermediate Analyst plays a crucial role in the implementation and management of Epic systems within the healthcare environment. This position requires a comprehensive understanding of system build and implementation processes, as well as the ability to analyze business problems and recommend solutions that align with organizational goals. The analyst will work collaboratively with clinicians and end users to design, build, test, train, implement, evaluate, and maintain Epic and associated systems, ensuring a secure and effective integrated patient care delivery system that enhances patient experiences and improves outcomes while reducing costs and increasing efficiency. In this role, the analyst will serve as a lead member of the Revenue Cycle Applications Team, focusing on the development of electronic documentation solutions that support clinical and revenue cycle workflows. The analyst will be responsible for developing and maintaining collaborative relationships with stakeholders, capturing business and technical requirements, and assessing workflow processes to identify gaps and necessary changes. They will design, build, and configure Epic system modules and supporting third-party applications, ensuring that all software modifications and upgrades meet Epic specifications. The Epic Revenue Cycle Intermediate Analyst will also be involved in testing processes, including unit, system, and integration testing, and will document outcomes to ensure quality assurance. They will remain current on industry trends and vendor updates, providing training as needed and troubleshooting any issues that arise. The analyst will participate in or lead multiple cross-functional projects, utilizing project management skills and methodologies to communicate project status, deliverables, and any barriers to success. Continuous improvement will be a key focus, encouraging exploration of alternative approaches and organizational learning.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with clinicians and end users to design, build, test, train, implement, evaluate, and maintain Epic and associated systems.
  • Serve as a lead member of the Revenue Cycle Applications Team, developing electronic documentation solutions that support clinical and revenue cycle workflows.
  • Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with stakeholders; capture business and technical requirements.
  • Assess workflow processes, identify gaps, define necessary process changes, and develop future workflows related to new solutions or functionality.
  • Design, build, and configure within assigned Epic system modules and supporting third-party applications; maintain system process documentation.
  • Design and develop test scripts and materials for end-to-end workflow testing; perform unit, system, and integration testing per standards.
  • Remain current on industry trends and vendor/application/system updates; ensure software modifications/upgrades meet Epic specifications.
  • Provide documentation on system upgrades and new releases of Epic applications; provide training if required.
  • Troubleshoot issues or system deficiencies and initiate escalation procedures as required; provide recommendations for resolution.
  • Participate in or lead multiple cross-functional projects; communicate project status, deliverables, and end-user concerns.

Requirements

  • College Degree (AS, Diploma, B.A., B.S. or commensurate experience) in business, IS, or a healthcare-related field is required.
  • 1 or more years' experience developing training materials and documenting workflow design.
  • Previous experience with scheduling and prior authorization preferred.
  • Maintenance of current licensure or certification related to area of specialty (OT, OT, SLP, RN, RPH, RT, AART, AHIMA, HFMA, NAHAM, etc.).
  • Epic certification or ability to complete certification within 3 months of completing classes.
