About the position

The Epic Senior Instructional Designer at the University of Miami Health System is responsible for planning and implementing engaging learning activities and course content tailored to meet the needs of a specific audience. This role also involves leading and providing guidance to lower-level instructional designers, ensuring the development of effective instructional materials and methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Work with subject matter experts to conduct needs assessments and identify new development needs.
• Design and create engaging learning activities and course content that enhances retention and transfer.
• Research and evaluate new and emerging technologies for instructional opportunities.
• State instructional end goals and create content that aligns with them.
• Visualize instructional graphics and user interfaces, ensuring an optimal learning experience.
• Conduct instructional research and analysis on learners and contexts.
• Apply tested instructional design theories, practices, and methods.
• Provide exercises and activities that enhance the learning process.
• Create supporting materials/media such as audio, video, simulations, and games.
• Determine criteria for assessing learner performance and develop assessment instruments.
• Evaluate instructional effectiveness and maintain project documentation.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field.
• Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience.
• Ability to prepare and maintain records, files, reports, and correspondence accurately.
• Effective communication skills in both oral and written forms.
• Ability to maintain effective interpersonal relationships.
• Attention to detail and accuracy in completing assignments.
• Problem recognition, analysis, and solving skills.
• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Proficiency in computer software, including Microsoft Office.
