The University of Miami Health System, known as UHealth, is seeking a Full-time Epic Senior Instructional Designer to join its Information Technology Department. This role is pivotal in planning and implementing engaging learning activities and compelling course content tailored to meet the learning needs of a specific target audience. The Epic Senior Instructional Designer will not only design and create educational materials but also serve as a lead for lower-level instructional designers, providing guidance and support as necessary. In this position, the designer will collaborate with subject matter experts to conduct needs assessments and analyses, identifying new development needs for the target audience. The role involves designing and creating engaging learning activities that enhance retention and transfer of knowledge. The designer will also identify the methodologies for delivering curated content and will research and evaluate new and emerging technologies that could be utilized in instructional opportunities. The Epic Senior Instructional Designer will be responsible for stating instructional end goals and creating content that aligns with these objectives. This includes visualizing instructional graphics, user interfaces, and the final product, while determining the context of aesthetics such as size, font, design, and experience to ensure that learners are not overwhelmed. The designer will conduct instructional research and analysis on learners and contexts, applying tested instructional design theories, practices, and methods. Additionally, the role includes creating supporting materials such as audio, video, simulations, and games, as well as developing assessment instruments to evaluate learner performance and instructional effectiveness. Maintaining project documentation and course folders is also a key responsibility, along with adhering to university policies and safeguarding university assets.
