The University of Miami Health System, known as UHealth, is seeking an Epic Solutions Engineer 1 - Patient Flow to join its Information Technology Department. This role is pivotal in developing and deploying clinical applications, hardware, and other technologies that enhance patient flow within the healthcare system. The Epic Solutions Engineer will be responsible for implementing system solutions tailored to user and client needs, ensuring seamless integration with existing applications, systems, or platforms. This position requires a proactive approach to researching, identifying, selecting, and testing technology products necessary for effective solution delivery. The engineer will also establish, implement, and document technology integration or migration strategies, staying updated on industry trends and new technologies relevant to the operations supported. In this role, the engineer will create new workflows or optimize existing business processes that exceed the current standards set by the organization or vendors. This will involve utilizing expert knowledge across multiple clinical applications and operational areas. The Epic Solutions Engineer will work closely with cross-functional healthcare teams, including analysts, vendors, and other technical teams, to meet patient flow and business continuity requirements. Building and maintaining strong relationships with operations teams is essential to ensure effective collaboration and communication, which will foster a seamless integration of processes and strategies to achieve organizational goals. The engineer will lead projects associated with the implementation and execution of high complexity and larger impact initiatives. Applying project management methodologies, the engineer will utilize standard project management tools for the development and maintenance of project plans. Continuous professional development is encouraged, and the engineer will participate in educational courses and programs to stay abreast of industry information and trends related to information technology systems. Acting as a trusted adviser and mentor to healthcare application teams, the engineer will provide guidance on best practices and technical aspects related to patient flow optimization. The role also involves implementing projects that are ahead of industry trends, requiring innovative thinking to remain at the forefront of healthcare technology. Collaboration with healthcare stakeholders to implement technical solutions aimed at optimizing patient flow processes is a key responsibility. The engineer must adhere to University and unit-level policies and procedures while safeguarding University assets.
