About The Position

The Epic Willow Ambulatory Analyst Associate for Retail Pharmacy Applications at Advocate Aurora Health is responsible for supporting users and leadership in the development and modification of procedures related to Epic clinical and business applications. This entry-level position involves assisting users in utilizing the full functionality of Epic applications, preparing requirements definitions, conducting testing, and documenting workflows and specifications. The role also includes troubleshooting user problems and maintaining product documentation, while ensuring effective communication regarding project status and application upgrades.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field.
  • Typically requires 1 year of experience in automated laboratory and/or business systems.
  • Basic knowledge of computer operating platforms and applications software.
  • Demonstrated analytical skills for data analysis and business needs.
  • Ability to translate user requirements into system specifications.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Access).
  • Ability to prepare, import, and manipulate information in spreadsheets and databases.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent listening and interpersonal skills.
  • Basic knowledge of project management software and methodologies.
  • Ability to follow change management processes.
  • Ability to communicate with clinical and technical customers.

Nice To Haves

  • Epic Certification within 6 months of hire and maintain annual educational requirements.
  • Basic knowledge of large-scale automated systems.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and modify procedures due to workflow process changes related to Epic applications.
  • Explain the functioning of assigned Epic applications to users.
  • Assist users in utilizing the full functionality of the applications.
  • Prepare input for requirements definition including user procedures and flowcharts.
  • Assist in the development of effective testing through execution and tracking of problem reports.
  • Set priorities for user requests and clarify them with users.
  • Document current workflows, specifications, and user manuals.
  • Complete change and quality control documentation using department standards.
  • Participate in testing, user training, and results evaluation.
  • Track standardized projects and keep users informed on progress and potential delays.
  • Monitor and document post-implementation problems and revision requests.
  • Identify ongoing application system issues and communicate patterns to senior analysts.
  • Maintain product documentation including requirements and troubleshooting guidelines.
  • Communicate project status and upgrades to clinic users.
  • Develop and maintain knowledge of clinical/laboratory and business operations for supported Epic applications.
  • Assist in scheduling and managing application version upgrades.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve user problems.
