About the position

As a Barclays EQ Electronic Trading Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) - Vice President, you will be responsible for monitoring and maintaining the bank's critical technology infrastructure, ensuring the availability and performance of low latency trading platforms. This role involves providing technical support, executing preventative maintenance, and resolving complex technical issues while minimizing operational disruptions. You will also be expected to collaborate with stakeholders and contribute to business process improvements.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support for the service management function to resolve complex issues for specific clients.
• Develop the support model and service offering to improve service to customers and stakeholders.
• Execute preventative maintenance tasks on hardware and software, utilizing monitoring tools to identify and address potential issues.
• Maintain a knowledge base of resolved cases for future reference and knowledge sharing.
• Analyze system logs and user reports to identify root causes of issues and provide resolutions.
• Implement automation and monitoring enhancements to maintain stability and drive efficiency.
• Identify and remediate potential service impacting risks and issues.
• Advise key stakeholders on functional and cross-functional areas of impact and alignment.
• Manage and mitigate risks in support of the control and governance agenda.
• Collaborate with other areas of work to align support with business strategies.

Requirements

• Experience in production data analysis and low-latency trading environments.
• Strong technical knowledge of electronic trading platforms and middleware technologies.
• Ability to analyze complex problems and develop innovative solutions.
• Experience with Smart Order Routing and Exchange Connectivity.

• Experience in algorithmic trading and co-location environments.
• Strong influencing and negotiating skills to build relationships with stakeholders.

Benefits

• Competitive salary range of $150,000 to $215,000 based on experience and qualifications.
